25 years ago, Historic Hudson Valley, inspired by mere wooden scraps and old photos discovered at Montgomery Place, partnered with Munder-Skiles to faithfully recreate the house’s original garden furniture. Today, our two-piece ensemble of bench and chair still graces the garden of this house museum, now under the stewardship of Bard College. The striking design featuring beveled circles, initially crafted in weathered teak, has proven so captivating that it often finds a place indoors, effortlessly drawing attention whether in mahogany or its original weathered teak finish.
